A 70-year-old trader was dragged on the road when he tried to resist a robbery bid of Rs 1 lakh in Northeast Delhi's Harsh Vihar, police officers said Tuesday. Police said that incident took place on June 19 when the victim, Sansar Singh, sitting on a motorcycle as a pillion rider outside his shop, was about to head back home in Ghaziabad after finishing work at his general store in Mandoli, when two men reached there and tried to snatch his bag. "On resisting, one of the robbers threatened him and showed him a pistol.the accused eventually took away the bag containing money," said an officer. CCTV footage of the incident shows Singh sitting on the motorcycle even as two men approach him and attempt to snatch the bag from his hand. “In a bid to resist the robbery, Singh grabbed the bag tightly and is dragged for a short distance on the road even as the accused persons get onto a bike where the third accused is waiting for them on the other side of the road, after which they flee the spot,” said another officer. Police officers said several teams have been formed to identify and nab the accused persons and a case of robbery has been lodged at Harsh Vihar Police Station.
