4 hoax calls warn of blasts

The police on Saturday received four anonymous calls about impending blasts at various locations across the city. The calls were declared hoax after investigation.

The police on Saturday received four anonymous calls about impending blasts at various locations across the city. The calls were declared hoax after investigation. The first of the four calls came at 3.15 pm — the caller claimed that a bomb had been planted at Lions Kidney Hospital in New Friends Colony. The next call,which police officials said was made at 3.18 pm,was about a bomb in Surya Hospital,also in New Friends Colony.

At 3.45 pm,the police received a call from a fixed telephone line in Mumbai about a bomb purportedly planted at the IGI Airport. The last call,around 4.15 pm,said bombs were planted on platform numbers 4,5,and 9 of the New Delhi railway station,the police said.

The police rushed bomb disposal squads and sniffer dogs to each location but no explosives were found.
