With the arrest of four persons, Delhi Police claimed to have busted an extortion racket, members of which allegedly target people through a dating app. DCP (Southeast) Rajesh Deo said a complainant told police he met a man through a dating app for LGBTQ community. On April 24, when the man took the complainant to a room at Sriniwaspuri, two men barged in, forced the complainant to remove his clothes and filmed him. “They threatened to make the video viral if he did not pay up Rs 2 lakh,” said the DCP. Three persons — Arun Kumar, Vishal Kohli and Rajesh Kumar — were nabbed. In another case, the complainant was taken to a room in a village by a man who, along with three others, thrashed and sexually abused him before extorting Rs 33,000 from him, said police. A man called Anuj has been arrested in the case.
