“Sandeep has confessed that Sharma was a good friend until he became interested in a woman from his neighbourhood. Sandeep also liked this woman and decided to murder Sharma,” said A K Ojha,Additional Commissioner of Police (South West).

The charred body of Sharma, who was working as an assistant manager with the BPO,was recovered from near the drain after passersby alerted police of a foul smell. A SIM card recovered from a broken mobile phone, found at the spot, led police to Sharma’s brother,Dharmendra who told police that Sharma had gone out with his friends for a drink, but never returned home.

“We found that Sandeep and Sharma worked in the same firm. He (Sandeep) was missing from his rented accommodation and was finally nabbed from Dhasna village,” Ojha said.

“On the day, they invited Sharma for drinks. When he was drunk, they took him near a drain, rammed him with the Santro twice and burnt him alive to prevent identification,” Ojha said.
