3 arrested in Gurgaon for holding man sleeping inside car ‘hostage’, carjacking
The man, who lodged a complaint at DLF Sector 29 police station later on Sunday, alleged that he was thrown out of the car near an alcohol shop on NH-48 and fled with the vehicle

For a man who had gone to a club in Gurgaon Sector 29 on the weekend, Saturday night ended in something he was least prepared for.
He had decided to step out of the club and rest in the rented car he and his friends had travelled in, while the friends stayed inside. Around 4.30 am on Sunday, three youths woke him up — but they were not his friends. Soon after, the youths allegedly picked him up and threw him on the backseat of the vehicle, before driving off.
The man, who lodged a complaint at DLF Sector 29 police station later on Sunday, alleged that he was thrown out of the car near an alcohol shop on NH-48 and fled with the vehicle. Based on his complaint, the police launched a search and the three accused were arrested from Gurgaon on Sunday for alleged carjacking and holding the complainant hostage.
The stolen vehicle was also recovered from the accused, a police spokesperson said.
“After leaving the club, he (complainant) was sleeping in the car while his friends remained inside. Around 4.30 am, three individuals entered the vehicle — one of them sat in the front seat, and the others in the back. They allegedly woke him up, threw him on the back seat, and drove off”, the spokesperson added.
All the accused are residents of Indira Colony in Gurgaon Sector 52. “They were identified as Taufiq (18), originally from Jharkhand’s Nadia; Akash (18), who hails from Bhadas village in Haryana’s Nuh; and Ayush (18) from Bharan in Haryana’s Rohtak”.
During interrogation, it was revealed that Ayush and Akash work at a salon in Sector-52, while Taufiq runs a pan shop in Indira Colony, police said.
“The accused confessed to spotting the complainant sleeping in the car alone, after which they entered the vehicle, held him hostage, and drove off. They threw him out of the car and fled with the vehicle, with the intention to sell it, but was caught before they could execute that plan,” the spokesperson added.
They were produced in court on Monday, and sent to a two-day police custody.
