According to police, the 24-year-old man, who is also a student, told them that the incident took place around 4.50 pm on Thursday.
“On that day, I was accompanying my sister and mother to pick up fodder near the village. On our way back home, three motorcycles approached us, each with three boys. One of them, who was on a Bullet, began misbehaving with my sister and mother,” he alleged in his complaint.
He said he protested against their misconduct, and, in response, a man fired at him. “The bullet hit my right hand and they fled the scene on their motorcycles,” he said.
He was taken to a government hospital in Palwal for medical treatment.
Police said an FIR has been filed under IPC sections of insulting the modesty of a woman; rioting, armed with a deadly weapon; unlawful assembly, and attempt to murder, and Section 25 Arms Act against 7-8 accused.
