A man and a woman were critically injured after they fell on the tracks before an oncoming train at the Rajiv Chowk Metro station late on Friday evening. The train ran over them and they sustained injuries on their legs. The two have been admitted in the ICU of RML hospital and are reportedly in a serious condition. The incident occurred around 9.30 pm. According to the police, Raju (30) is a resident of Jahangirpuri. One of his legs has been injured. Meherbin (23),a resident of Dehradun,has sustained injuries on both legs. According to the Delhi Metro officials,they were found on the tracks of the underground Yellow Line around 9.30 pm by some passengers and the security personnel posted at the platform. They were rescued and handed over to the police. Meherbin had got off the train on the Blue Line route at Rajiv Chowk and was to take the train for Jahangirpuri,the police said. According to eyewitnesses,they were waiting for the train and fell onto the tracks in the jostling,said a DMRC official. A police officer,however,said they are investigating all ends. The incident affected traffic on the line,with trains being held at various stations for about 30 minutes.
