18-year-old stabbed to death in Ghaziabad following argument over food bill

Police said an argument ensued between Shehzad and Chand over payment of the food bill.

An 18-year-old boy was stabbed to death allegedly by four men following an altercation with his brother over payment of bills at an eatery in Muradnagar area of Ghaziabad on Thursday night. Police have arrested two men in connection with the case.

The deceased has been identifed as Bashaarat, the younger brother of Chand who had visited an eatery run by one Shehzad a few hours before the murder.

Police said an argument ensued between Shehzad and Chand over payment of the food bill. “During the investigation, it was found that Chand had visited an eatery Thursday evening where he had indulged in an argument with the owner, Shehzad, over charging him Rs 50 extra on the bill. After a heated argument, Chand left the spot,” Naresh Kumar, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Masoori), said.

Shehzad and Chand, both of whom resided in Nekpur village, resumed their fight after reaching home.
“More people joined in, and Shehzad, along with his accomplice, stabbed Bashaarat,” Kumar said.

Police said they received information about the stabbing incident around 10.30 pm following which a team from the Muradnagar police station rushed to the spot. “The injured was taken to the hospital, but he was declared dead by the doctors… A complaint was received from his family members against four people. We have managed to arrest two of the accused in connection with the murder,” said Kumar.

The arrested accused have been identified as Aasu alias Aas Mohammad (34) and Shehzaad (35). Police said that two of the absconding accused have been identified and teams are working to nab them.

The accused have been booked under section 302(murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code. The accused were produced before the court and sent to judicial custody.
