Former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal lived in the 6, Flag Staff Road bungalow, which ran into controversy over its alleged extravagant remodelling and renovation. The bungalow, dubbed ‘Sheesh Mahal’ by the BJP, is reportedly being considered as a state guest house by the government.

CM Rekha Gupta and the party, in several statements, have categorically said she will not live in that house. She is currently working out of her family home at Shalimar Bagh.

Sources said, “The CM’s house is yet to be finalised… Bungalow number 2 on Madhu Limaye Marg, Chanakyapuri, has been offered to Education Minister Ashish Sood. Other ministers such as Ravinder Singh Indraj, Deputy Vidhan Sabha Speaker Mohan Singh Bisht and others have been offered houses on Shamnath Marg.” Bisht said, “Yes, I have been offered a bungalow near Raj Niwas. I will select one and accept it soon.”

A source from Sood’s office said, “Nothing is finalised yet. But the minister’s preference is Chanakyapuri as it will be closer to his constituency, Janakpuri. Currently, an official is residing in the bungalow and it will take some time for him to vacate.”
