BJP dares Cong to include non-Hindu practices in Bill

Bill proposes to bring to book promoters of various superstitious practices exploiting people.

The BJP challenged the Congress government Thursday to include superstitions practised by non-Hindus in the proposed Karnataka Prevention and Eradication of Human Sacrifice and Other Inhuman Evil and Gory Practices and Black Magic Bill 2013 before it is tabled in the legislative Assembly.

“There are so many superstitions practised by non-Hindu communities. Let the Siddaramaiah government include these practices in the proposed Bill before tabling it in both Houses of the legislature,” state party president Prahlad Joshi told reporters here.

Maintaining that the proposed Bill,to be tabled in the upcoming winter session of the Assembly in Belgaum,“hurts Hindu sentiments”,he threatened to stall the session if the government tabled it in its present form.

“We will do our best to oppose this Bill. We will not allow the session to run if the government tables it in both Houses,” Joshi said.
