The construction of a Railway Over Bridge above the Zirakpur railway crossing on NH-22 will lead to diversion of traffic through Chandigarh from January 14 to 25.

The construction of a Railway Over Bridge (ROB) above the Zirakpur railway crossing on NH-22 will lead to diversion of traffic through Chandigarh from January 14 to 25. This will cause inconvenience to commuters as they will have to go inside Chandigarh and take the Sector 29 and Industrial Area Phase 1 road further to the Housing Board Roundabout to enter Panchkula.

Now it is easy to reach Sector 12 and Sector 20 from Zirakpur. This road further connects with Kalka. This implies that tourist traffic entering from the Patiala side will also get affected during the construction period.

According to estimates,it will increase the journey by 10 km and cause a delay of around 20-25 minutes. The construction is being initiated as part of the project of four-laning the Parwanoo-Zirakpur road.
