A 25-year-old youth was stabbed following a brawl in Colony Number 5 late last night. The police booked a group of persons on charges of attempt to murder,rioting and criminal intimidation and a case has been registered in the Sector-34 police station in this regard. The victim Shiv Kumar,a resident of Colony Number 5,was stabbed by the assailants following an old rivalry. He suffered multiple injuries on his forehead,back and other parts of the body and had been admitted to the Government Medical Collage and Hospital. The police said Shiv Kumars friend Vishal had an old feud with Amarjit Singh alias Tota,Deepak and Davinder,who assaulted him last year. On Sunday evening around 8.30 pm,the accused along with other six others spotted Shiv Kumar and assaulted him. The police control room received a call and a PCR van rushed the victim to the hospital. The statements of Shiv Kumars were recorded by the police at the hospital following which a case was registered against the three. Police arrested Tota,Deepak and Davinder while their accomplices were still at large.
