Youth murdered; two die in accident

A 22-year-old man was killed and his brother sustained injuries when a group of unidentified men,allegedly led by one Pardeep Singh and his cousin Manjinder Singh,attacked them with sharp-edged weapons on Saturday,the Diwali night. The deceased was Inderjit Singh Nurpur village near Banga. His brother Iqbal Singh (24) is in hospital.

The police said the brothers were returning from Phagwara on their motorcycle at about 8.30 pm on Saturday. “When they were passing through the village street,they were allegedly stopped by Pardeep Singh and Manjinder Singh and attacked. Inderjit succumbed to his injuries on way to the Banga civil hospital,while Iqbal is admitted there. The police have registered a case under Section 302 of the IPC at Behram police station against Pardeep Singh and Manjinder Singh.

In another incident,Sunil Kumar of Bhaura and Harvinder Singh of Mahil Gehilan died on the spot when their scooter hit against the gate of Surapur village around 8.30 pm on Saturday.
