What’s on: Whispers of Light to illuminate Chandigarh’s art scene with meditative glow

As the art world leans toward introspection and sustainability, Whispers of Light captures the emerging mood of “quiet minimalism”. “There is global fatigue from loud visual noise. Through this show, we are embracing calm — artworks that exhale rather than shout,” adds Munish.

The Government Museum and Art Gallery in Sector 10 will turn into a haven of light, reflection, and quiet beauty this weekend as AIM Gallery presents Whispers of Light — an exhibition of nearly 100 artworks by award-winning contemporary artists from across India.

Curated by Gurpreet Kaur and Munish Jauhar, the show runs from October 24 to 26, between 11 am and 7 pm, and features works by Gurmeet Marwah, Samir Mohanty, Pradipta Chakraborty, Kapil Anant Sharma, Magesh R, Bhaskar Rao, Ganapati Hegde, and Harisha Chennagod.

“Art has a quiet, enduring power — it soothes without demand and reveals the light we often overlook in everyday life. Whispers of Light is an exploration of that subtle radiance,” say curators Gurpreet and Munish, who describe the exhibition as a “dialogue between art and light” that is both affordable and collectible.

The exhibition pays tribute to the gentler side of beauty — where silence, stillness, and reflection take centre stage. “We wanted to create an experience that speaks in whispers, not declarations. Art doesn’t always need to shout to be heard. Sometimes, it’s the gentle glow that lingers longest,” says Gurpreet.

As the art world leans toward introspection and sustainability, Whispers of Light captures the emerging mood of “quiet minimalism”. “There is global fatigue from loud visual noise. Through this show, we are embracing calm — artworks that exhale rather than shout,” adds Munish.

With collectors and galleries increasingly drawn to art that heals and nurtures, the curators believe this exhibition mirrors a broader shift toward emotional wellness and mindful creation. “In many ways, Whispers of Light celebrates the human need for quiet connection in a bright, busy world,” they say.

Founded in 2023 by artist and calligraphist Gurpreet Kaur and entrepreneur-art collector Munish Jauhar, AIM Gallery — Art. Ink. Musings. — has quickly become a vibrant platform in North India’s art landscape. Its mission: to make art accessible yet aspirational, connecting aesthetic appreciation with emotion and conversation.
