Panchkula residents are at the receiving end of the heat, that is increasing with each passing day. Though the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) officials claim all necessary action will be taken to check water pressure this summer, residents have already started complaining.
For nearly a week,we have been facing the problem of water shortage. Our house being on the second floor, pressure is so low that water does not reach us. If this is the state of affairs in April,we can imagine what would be the scenario in May,June and July, said Amrita Walia,a resident of Sector 19.
Similar sentiments were echoed by a resident of Sector 12A,Mahesh Gupta, who said despite the fact that the problem of water pressure arises every year during summer,no efforts are made to ease it. Water pressure is becoming a cause of concern for all now. It is high time the HUDA officials take some punitive action against those wasting water,so other residents do not have to suffer for their mistakes, said Gupta.
Talking to Newsline,a HUDA official said,We are making all our efforts to control this problem. The best that can be done is to keep a check on wastage of water. It is for this that public notices have been issued that anyone found wasting water like washing cars will invite punitive action.
