UT receives list of replacement bureaucrats from Punjab govt

The UT Administration has received the names of a panel of bureaucrats from Punjab to replace some of those posted here.

The UT Administration has received the names of a panel of bureaucrats from Punjab to replace some of those posted here. With some bureaucrats having completed or set to complete their terms and others being promoted,new officers are needed. Earlier,a panel from Haryana was received.

The panel of PCS officers was sought for replacing two officers who have been promoted to IAS. These included Gurpreet Kaur Sapra and Jaswinder Kaur. The names received included those of Sandeep Hans,Paramjit Singh,Avneet Kaur,Rajdeep Singh,Reena Duggal,Sanjay Popli and Subhash Chander. Of these,Sandeep Hans has served earlier in the city.

Among the other PCS officers,the tenure of Sunil Bhatia,who is the Additional Commissioner,Municipal Corporation has already ended. He has received two extensions. Meanwhile,the tenure of Joint Secretary M M Sabharwal will be ending this year. Among the IAS officers of the Punjab cadre,the tenure of D K Tiwari,who is the Managing Director of CITCO ended in January last year. He has since then been receiving extensions.

The panel from Haryana that was received earlier had three names including Vandana Disodia,Kamlesh Kumar and Parvesh Kumar. Apart from Parvesh Kumar,the two other HCS officers have earlier had stints in the city. The tenure of Mahavir Kaushik,who is the incharge of Registering and Licensing Authority is set to end. Another HCS officer whose term is ending is Lalit Siwach,who is the Additional Commissioner-II in Municipal Corporation.

Most of the bureaucrats in the city are holding multiple charges. In fact,it is after repeatedly asking for these that the panels have been sent by the Punjab and Haryana government.

Over a period of time,officers have shown reluctance to join in Chandigarh. AGMUT cadre IAS officer Parshuram V Kavle who was the Additional Deputy Commissioner was recently transferred.

A new officer will be posted in his place.
