Dr Priti Garg and Dr. Rajender Kumar Sharma,both from Chandigarh,will be conferred with the National Award by the President of India on the occasion of Teacher's Day on September 5. Garg is a lecturer of Sanskrit at Government Model Senior Secondary School Sector 10 and Sharma teaches at Government Model Senior Secondary School Sector 37. With a teaching experience of 21 years,Garg has won State Award for Teachers in 2008 and published a book in Hindi. Sharma has won a State Award in 1992 and has a teaching experience of 32 years during which he has won eight other awards. Two flee petrol pump without paying Chandigarh: Two motorcycle-borne youth allegedly beat up a member of the petrol station staff in sector 27 after filling up their tank without paying. Officers of the Sector 26 police station have said that no complaint has been filed as the petrol pump staff is unwilling to comment on the incident which took place on Wednesday night. BJP raises SC,ST issue during zero hour Chandigarh: BJP MP Arjun Meghwal raised the issue of non-issuance of SC and ST certificates in the city during zero hour in the Lok Sabha.
