Sanchit Gupta
AIR 10
Student of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Senior Secondary School, Sector 35, who had secured AIR 224 in the AIIMS results made it to top 10 in the AIMPT retest results. “Retest exam had come to me as a second golden chance and I had to prove myself and I happy that I did it. I had done well in the exams and was expecting a decent rank but not in top 10,” said Gupta.
Son of Sanjeev Gupta, who is a doctor and has been practicing in a clinic in Mubarakpur and mother Seema Gupta, house wife, Sanchit though has not decided that in which field he would like to go, he said that he wants to get into deep research of any particular topic after his studies. He had already taken an admission in AIIMS, Rishikesh but he had always wanted to study in Delhi.
“Smart scheduling of the time table such that you also get enough time for doing something extra on a daily basis like music, games, sports etc is the best way to achieve the target. I love reading books, watching movies and exploring new places,” Gupta added.
Akshita Gupta
AIR 28
Daughter of Pawan Gupta, who is a principal at a government senior secondary school, Ambala and Meena Gupta, a government school teacher, Akshita decided to go for Medical after realising that she would like to study Biology in more details. Thus, securing the 28th AIR, Akshita became the third topper from the tricity.
Hailing from Ambala, Akshita did her school from government model senior secondary school, Sector 33. Unlike other students who wish to take admission in one of the medical colleges in Delhi, especially Maulana Azad Medical College, Akshita wants to pursue her studies from Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32. “No reasons in particular but I wish to stay in my own city and study and if I get a chance, I would like to serve this city only,” said Akshita.
Akshita had secured 75th AIR in AIIMS results. While she had calculated 610 scores from the first AIPMT answer keys, she secured 657 scores in the retest. “I was not even expecting a rank in top 50 but I have managed to secure a position in top 30. I had a wonderful opportunity to improve my scores. I studied for seven hours a day but with complete concentration and dedication,” she added.
Kashish Garg
AIR 15
Son of Usha Gupta and Pramod Gupta who are bankers, Kashish Garg preferred to opt for Medical line since he wanted to do something different from his parents and his elder brother who is pursuing Engineering from IIT Roorkee.
“I believe that the portfolios in a family should be diversified. If the parents are doctors, why their daughters or sons are expected to go for the same profession. Thus, my thinking and my love for Biology made me achieve this target,” said Garg.
Garg wants to become a Cardiologist and besides studying for 7-8 hours on a daily basis, he loves solving the Rubic’s cube puzzle. “The students should make themselves clear about their target and their ambition, only then they would be able to dedicate proper time to their studies. Also guidance is must because we need to have much more knowledge than that of NCERT textbooks.”
Garg had already got an admission in Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi after securing 55th AIR in the AIIMS results. Now with 15th AIR in AIPMT retest, he also wishes to get an admission in Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi.
Ayush Jain
AIR 52
“Constant hard work, good guidance and the will to fulfill your dream cannot stop you from seeing yourself, where you had thought of,” said Ayush Jain who secured 52nd All India rank in the AIPMT retest.
Student of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Collegiate Public School, Sector 26, Ayush said that the retest was easier as compared to the previous one but he had not expected a rank in top 100. Ayush’s father Pramod Jain is a pediatrician and mother Anu Jain is a Physician. “I wanted to follow the footsteps of my parents and I give the credit of my achievement to my parents only. They never forced to opt for Medical. It is by choice I opted for it and here I am,” said Ayush.
Yet to decide the field he would chose for himself, he added, “After studying all the streams, I would be in a position to decide the best stream for myself. I have kept the options open for myself.”
Ayush had already taken an admission in IPU, Delhi and was also selected for CMC Ludhiana on the basis of his AIIMS rank- 63 AIR.
