To unite with husband in death,woman kills children,attempts suicide

Police sources quoting neighbours said Pooja’s husband Vicky died last year in July following some heart ailment. Since,then Pooja could not come out of trauma.

In her suicide note Pooja wrote that she missed her husband and that she and her kids remembered him everyday. “We shared great love and my kids and I can’t live without him. We had a family here on the earth and now we will make a family in heaven,” she wrote.

Police sources said that Pooja’s mother Shanti,who used to live with her,had gone to Amritsar to bring some medicines when her daughter took the extreme step.

“Today (Friday) morning Shanti called up Pooja on her phone,but after getting no response,she asked her relatives in Jalandhar to check on her daughter,” police sources said,adding that when the relatives forced their way into the house,they found Pooja in a semi-conscious condition with her two dead children.

They rushed her to the hospital,wher doctors confirmed that she had consumed poison. A case has been registered against Pooja under Section 302 of IPC for killing her children and Section 309 for attempt to commit suicide.
