Theme park graft case: Petitioner seeks time to read closure report

With the complainant seeking time to read and prepare a reply to the closure report submitted by the CBI over alleged corruption by former top UT bureaucrats in the controversial Amusement-cum-Theme Park project,the case has been adjourned to April 1. The complainant,Vivek Aditya,received a copy of the closure report on Tuesday. In the Special CBI Court,Aditya sought a time of four to six weeks to file his reply. “I will have to go through the report to file an appropriate reply in the same,” he said. The court,however,asked to do so by April 1,thereby adjourning the case. It is for the second time that the CBI has stated that they have failed to investigate the case. A local resident,Vivek Aditya,who had filed a series of complaints with the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC),New Delhi,pertaining to conceptualisation and allotment of multi-crore amusement-cum-theme park project,has been summoned by the CBI Special court today to reply in the same.

The first closure report was rejected by the court of Special Judge,Vimal Kumar on May 18,last year. A fresh probe was ordered in the case on August 30,2012.

The alleged scam involving the former UT advisor Lalit Sharma,former home secretary Krishna Mohan,former director (tourism) Vivek Atray and M/s Unitech Limited through its managing director Ajay Chandra. All the four were booked on charges of criminal conspiracy,cheating,destruction of evidence and corruption by CBI.
