It was on May 10 that software engineer Naveen Kumar left his house to visit a salon as he was to get married two days later. Eight days after he went missing, his body was found with three unidentified bodies in the Ropar canal. For the shattered family, the news is yet to sink in. Naveen,30,lived in Sector 45 along with his mother and his younger brother Praveen. Naveens father, who was suffering from Alzheimers disease, had died four years back. After his father died,Naveen was the only bread winner of the family. He started an IT firm in Sector 47 and made his younger brother Praveen a partner in the firm. He also supported Praveens education, said Kumardeep Chaudhary, one of Naveens cousins. Praveen told Chandigarh Newsline,I cannot believe that my brother is no more. My father had also died four years ago. I am completely shattered. Praveen said that his brother could not have committed suicide. We are suspecting foul play. My brother was happy. Why would he commit suicide? It was dark when I identified my brothers corpse last night. I could not see any injury mark on his body. Now we are waiting for the post-mortem report. Chaudhary said Naveens mother had been wailing since she got the news of her sons death. She was already under shock from her husbands death. Naveens unexpected demise has shattered my aunt completely, he added. Naveen was engaged to a school teacher six months back. It was an arranged marriage and Naveen was happy. He had called his fiancee and his family members from his mobile minutes before he went missing. Police officials said that mobile location of Naveens phone showed that he had left the house, gone to his office and then to the salon. As per the salon staff,Naveen had taken an appointment for a haircut. But he did not have one. After tracking his mobile location,it has been found that from the salon,Naveen went to the place from where his motorcycle and bag were found. After that, the mobile is switched off and it was not found, said a police official.
