Stray cattle: BJP leaders meet UT Home Secy

BJP members,on Tuesday,met UT Home Secretary Anil Kumar demanding cattle should not be picked from people’s houses. They alleged stray cattle should be caught,which is presently not being done by the municipal corporation. The BJP leaders also visited the cow pound.

Following the death of three city residents,the civic body has been conducting drives to catch stray cattle,with around 400 stray cattle being caught. The BJP leaders claim the cattle caught was not stray. They say the cattle picked up by the corporation was tied in the villages. Also,they demanded that the cattle be released.

The BJP also told the Home Secretary that the Mayor was not calling a meeting of the general house despite a representation being submitted to him. The Home Secretary has now asked them to give him a representation pertaining to the same.

The BJP members also visited the cattle pound in Industrial Area where councillor Arun Sood stated the conditions were unhygienic and a tragedy was waiting to happen.
