Soya, Methi, Dal Chicken and much more: Here’s all you need to know about Khichdi Festival hosted by Chandigarh administration

The Chandigarh administration-run Hotel Parkview, which is celebrating its Golden Jubilee, invited its patrons to “embark on a culinary journey featuring an array of exquisite khichdi varieties that showcase the rich diversity of Indian cuisine”.

With Methi Khichdi, Soya Khichdi, Dal Chicken Khichdi and even Schezwan Khichdi among other options, the Chandigarh administration-run Hotel Parkview is hosting a unique ‘Khichdi Festival’ as a part of its Golden Jubilee celebrations.

In a message to their patrons, Hotel Parkview said, “In honour of this special milestone, we invite our patrons to embark on a culinary journey featuring an array of exquisite khichdi varieties that showcase the rich diversity of Indian cuisine.”

An official of the administration said, “Visitors will be able to embark on a culinary journey with ‘Vegetarian Extravaganza’, where the heartiness of khichdi offerings promises to be a gastronomic delight.”

The official added, “For those with a penchant for non-vegetarian food, they will be offered Dal Chicken Khichdi, a symphony of flavours, priced at Rs 480+taxes.”

Talking about the items that will be available at the festival, the official said, “From the wholesome Hari Bhari Khichdi to the flavourful Schezwan Khichdi and the aromatic Methi Khichdi, the diverse menu invites all to savour these delicacies. Not just this, people can indulge in the Soya Khichdi, the nutty Millet Khichdi and the hearty Bajra Khichdi, all priced at just Rs 225+taxes.”

A statement by the Chandigarh Industrial and Tourism Development Corporation Limited (CITCO) added, “A visitor can enhance the khichdi experience with accompaniments where they can pair the meal with the crunch of papad and achar or choose from a variety of raita options such as mix, boondi, aloo pudina, or pineapple, each priced at Rs 155+taxes. It can also be accompanied with a refreshing choice of lassi, be it sweet, salted, or masala, available at Rs 180+taxes.”

The Khichdi Festival will be held at the hotel’s Palm Restaurant from January 24 to 31.
