District and Sessions judge,Ravi Kumar Sondhi,on Thursday sentenced a 19-year-old youth to four-years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 2,000. The youth,Munish, had hit his father with a cement tile on his head, leading to his death. The sentence came a day after Munish was held guilty of the death of his father,Raghuveer for culpable homicide not amounting to murder under Section 304 IPC part II. The prosecution in the case had pressed for the maximum punishment of 10 years in the case while the defence pleaded that the accused was the sole bread-winner of his family and was not found involved in any other crime earlier. The defence had also argued in the court that the death of the father of the accused was caused after he fell down from the charpoy at his house in Pinjore, which was however not found probable in the case due to the multiple fractures on the head of the accused. After the quantum of sentence was announced here on Thursday,Munish was taken into custody. District Attorney,Amit Parmar, who pleaded the case in the court said that the court passed the orders of the quantum of sentence here on Thursday, adding that circumstances pointed towards the guilt of accused and the explanation given by the defence in the court was not probable. The scientific evidence had gone against the accused and the hair sample of the accused had matched the hair strands found with the bloodstained cement tile that was used by the accused to hit his father. The incident had happened last year and the landlord at whose house the family was living had complained to the police about the incident. Manish was out on bail and was earlier booked for murder and has served judicial custody in the case.
