‘10 persons don’t represent the entire Sikh community’: BJP Delhi minister M S Sirsa on attempt by Khalistanis to attack Foreign Minister Jaishankar in London
Defeat Sanjeev Arora to ensure no entry for Kejriwal in Rajya Sabha, the Delhi minister said.

Delhi cabinet minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa Thursday condemned the recent attempt by Khalistani extremists to assault External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar in London.
Sirsa, who was at BJP headquarters in Chandigarh, said, “I strongly condemn such incidents… However, here I want to mention that they (attackers) were merely 10 persons and hence a handful of persons can’t represent the entire (Sikh) community. Everyone knows that Sikhs are patriots and they guard our borders to protect us from enemies. Their contribution in the Independence struggle can’t be forgotten. However, a few people are trying to paint a wrong narrative against our community repeatedly.”
“One should not do such work due to which the whole community gets defamed in the country…” the Delhi minister added.
Taking a dig at the ‘knowledge-sharing agreement’ between the previous AAP-led Delhi government and the Bhagwant Mann government in Punjab, Sirsa said, “Punjab’s people are wise enough and we can always come to them to seek knowledge rather than to give any knowledge to them… that so called knowledge-sharing agreement was nothing but a reason to officially call Punjab’s officers to Delhi to make excise policy and other policies.”
Targeting former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Sirsa said, “Where was the war against drugs in the past three years? Now that they have lost Delhi polls and Kejriwal is in Punjab, it is being projected that action is being taken against the drug mafia… so, once again, Kejriwal is being projected as messiah…”
Sirsa, however, said, “I am sure that Punjab voters are wise enough and they will make (AAP candidate) Sanjeev Arora lose his security deposit from Ludhiana West. I appeal to the voters… make anyone win but not Sanjeev Arora… don’t let Kejriwal enter Parliament through the Rajya Sabha seat by any chance.”
It needs to be mentioned that Arora is presently a Rajya Sabha member from Punjab and if he wins Ludhiana West constituency, his Rajya Sabha seat will be vacated. Sources have claimed that Kejriwal would then, in all likelihood, contest the vacant Rajya Sabha seat.
Reacting to a video of Kejriwal arriving in Punjab in a huge cavalcade to attend a 10-day Vipassana meditation camp in Hoshiarpur, Sirsa stated that Punjab’s resources were being wasted on AAP leaders who got defeated in Delhi.
Sirsa also claimed the Centre was talking to farmers who have been protesting at Khanauri and Shambhu borders over a host of demands, and added that local BJP leaders could be made mediators between the two parties.
