A bitter confrontation building-up between Mayor Madhu Sood and corporation commissioner AN Sharma,an IGP-rank police officer,on Monday took a new turn with the former softening her stand against the commissioner and giving him a clean-chit in the controversial Bemloi builders case. Only last week,the mayor had opened up a direct attack against the Commissioner accusing him of working in a partisan manner and granting No Objection Certificate (NOC) to Bemloi Development and Infrastructure Company within a single day a charge the commissioner had rejected earlier. However,today,taking a U-turn Madhu Sood said she had raised her concerns only about the problems being faced by the citizens due to lack of maintenance of a link road leading to some villages near the project. When contacted,the mayor parried questions as to whether she still stood by her charges against the commissioner. I raised those concerns because those people have complained. I had nothing personal against anyone, she said.
