“The GMADA CA assured not to go against the decision of the civic body,” said Prince, while adding that the development authority has sought the civic body’s suggestions for an alternative site.

Prince said the development authority also made an offer to exchange the MC land in Industrial Area Phase I,with another plot of GMADA. The civic body, however, turned down the offer.

It was only later that the MC authorities accompanied the GMADA field officials while inspecting a site near Dara Studio in Phase VI.

“Even as we conveyed to the GMADA authorities that we have no objections with the Phase VI site,we refused to give it in writing as desired by them,” said Prince, while lauding GMADA’s effort to amicably resolve the issue.
