Sri Guru Gobind Singh College claimed the Panjab University Badminton (Men) Championship by beating Panjab University Campus by 3-1 in the final played at the PU Gymnasium Hall on Monday.
Saurav opened the lead for SGGS when he defeated Sunil 21-8,21-19. International player Oscar Bansal restored parity for PU Campus by outplaying Aman 21-4,21-11. Later,Saurav and Deepak prevailed over the PU Campus pair of Oscar Bansal and Sunil to win the match by 23-21,21-10. In the singles category,Deepak accounted for Navjot by 21-9,21-11 to give their team title. Meanwhile,PU Campus,Chandigarh,DAV College,Chandigarh and PG Government College,Sector 11,Chandigarh got second,third and fourth positions,respectively.
