The Chandigarh Senior Citizens Association organized a socio-medical camp Saturday at Government High School,Mauli Colony in collaboration with Director Social Welfare of UT Administration and the area councillor.
This was the first camp in a series of such camps that are held to commemorate the memory of Late PH Vaishnav,past president of the association.
Specialists from Max Super Speciality Hospital,Grewal Eye Institute and Guru Nanak Multi-Specialty Hospital were present. Sahayta Cancer Sahyog carried out cancer awareness. PGIMERs Asha Jyoti Van of Radiology Department carried out Mammography and other Cancer detection tests. While Directorate of Social welfare provided Socio cover in respect of Pensions,Aam Admi Bima yojana,loans,Child Help Line Services and financial help to challenged and other eligible persons etc. The camp was a big success. Maj Gen Kandal (Retd),Convener of the camp said that over 400 poor and needy people benefited from the camp.
