Additionally, an FIR under Section 174-A of the IPC was lodged against the accused for failing to appear in court as per orders under Section 82 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.The Proclaimed Offender (PO) Cell of Chandigarh Police has arrested Vinod Sehwag, brother of former cricketer Virender Sehwag, in connection with a two-year-old cheque bounce case.
Vinod and two others were accused under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments (NI) Act after cheques issued by their company, M/s Xalta Food Beverages Private Limited, were found to be allegedly dishonoured. The complaint was filed by Krishan Mohan Khanna, a Panchkula-based businessman. The case was registered in 2023 at the Manimajra police station.
