Sector-16 kidnapping: Suspect’s mother-in-law rounded up

The Panchkula police rounded up the mother-in-law of the prime suspect in the Sector-16 kidnapping case,Raju,on Monday. The police team that had gone in search of Raju to Vadodra in Gujarat,from where they picked his mother-in-law for questioning,is now on its way back with her.

A resident of Sector 16,Vinod Mittal and his four-year-old son,went missing on the night of February 14. Sushma,the wife of Vinod Mittal alleged that her husband,a financer by profession,left the house with their son,Yashan,in their Santro car (CH04A 5012) to meet one of his business partners Raju,a resident of Baltana. The two have reportedly been missing since. Till date,there no clues about the whereabouts of the father-son duo or of the car.

The family of Raju,including his wife and daughter,are also reportedly missing from their house in Zirakpur since last Saturday.

“A police team had been sent to Vadodra in search of the suspect Raju and it was from there that his mother-in-law was rounded up and are now being brought to Panchkula for questioning,” said a police official on the condition of anonymity.
