When the students from the batches of 1986 to 2009 met,it was a walk down the memory lane. The fourth alumni meet of the School of Communication Studies themed Sapno Se Sachai Tak was thoroughly an emotional affair as the Panjab University alumni came and shared their memories of the department. Though over the years the department has progressed and changed, the very thought of meeting the old pals was enough to pull the alumnus back to where they originally belonged. Kanwar Sandhu, former editor of Hindustan Times and editor of Day and Night News and an alumnus of the department, was all in praise for the department and its faculty and called the department one of the best journalism institutes in the country. While tears rolled down, the joy on the face of those who attended the alumni meet was also visible. The thought of coming back to the university and meeting old friends and professors bring back the same innocence and fun that we had when were students, said Charanjit Singh,Managing Director,Core Public Relations. The best part of the alumni meet was the fun the alumnus had while they pulled each others legs on how they looked so old,the hair which were once so obvious were now a matter of jealousy as some of them had lost it while some still had a few strands to flaunt it. The evening also saw some old love stories being revisited when the alumnus shared the love stories that grew during their stay in university. They all missed cutting classes to have a stroll with their partner in the lush green gardens on the university premises. A presentation on alumnus by the students was something that hit the strings of the old souls of the mass communication department. The evening transcended into soulful musical night as Kamal and Group enthralled the audience with their ghazals performance, which was followed by a thrilling DJ night. This alumni meet brought back the memories of innocence and forgotten love and the evening ended with warm hugs and mild tears.
