School,family clueless about how girl fell off second floor

The family of Cheshta Chawla,a Class VIII student of St Anne’s School in Sector 32,who fell off the second floor of the school building on Monday afternoon,still do not know what exactly happened on that day.

Speaking to Newsline,Rajkumar Chawla,father of the girl,said,“Around 1.30 pm,I received a call from the school management on Monday informing me about the incident. I rushed to the hospital as was told that Cheshta was being taken there. We have no clue how the incident took place and have not been told anything by the school authorities.”

He added that he has not found time to inquire about the incident and was more worried about his daughter’s well being.

Meanwhile,the school authorities also claimed that they did not know about the whole matter.

On Monday,the victim was found in a pool of blood by the caretakers and was admitted to the hospital with multiple injuries. “Cheshta had reportedly gone to the washroom and no one was with her when the incident took place. We are waiting for her to regain consciousness”,said Father Amros.

The school authorities were now waiting for the victim to give a statement to the police to know what exactly happened that day. The police have not registered a case as they were waiting for the victim’s statement. The police say that the girl’s father has sought some time to think over the matter.

Meanwhile,Cheshta Chawla is currently admitted in the hospital with multiple fractures,but is stated to be out of danger.
