When Savneet and Siddharth Goel changed sides at the end of first set,the was a spring in Savneet's step and smile on his face. After a superb display in the first set,which he won by 4-1,Savneet looked calm and composed. He continued to dominate Siddharth and easily won the second set 4-1 to win the boy's u-14 title in the Swami Ram Tirath Total Tennis Championship,at the Swami Ram Tirath School,Phase IV,on Wednesday. Under clear skies and a cool breeze blowing over the courts,Savneet came out to face Siddharth in the final. he made his intentions clear,sending down some powerful forehands and bullet aces past Siddharth to gain the upper hand. His opponent never recovered from the initial damages and suffered a 4-1 defeat in the first set. Looking to make a comeback into the second set,Siddharth tried his best to indulge his opponent in long rallies. But Savneet looked in smashing form and lost just one game to take control of the match by winning the set 4-1. Meanwhile,in the boy's u-12 category,Siddharth outplayed Jaishvin 6-3 to register a fantasic victory. The boy's u-18 match between Sohrab Singh and Abhishek was a tough one as the former needed some luck and faulty shots from the former to register a hard-fought victory. After winning the first set 6-4,Sohrab lost the second set to Abhishek 5-7. In the final set,he was at his destructive best as he routed his opponent 6-0 to register win. In girl's section,Khushbeen defeated Anupriya 4-1,4-2 in u-14 category while Rahat outclassed Panvi 4-1,4-0 in the same age category.
