Sangrur: 2,200 litres synthetic milk seized, 4 arrested

SP(D) Sewa Singh Malhi and CIA Inspector Harinder Singh raided the factory and seized six bags of milk powde

The Sangrur police Wednesday seized 2,200 litres of synthetic milk from an illegal underground factory being run at Balad Khurd. Four persons have been arrested including two women. SSP Sangrur Pritpal Singh Thind said that factory was running since two years and the accused were mixing dangerous chemicals in the milk.

SP(D) Sewa Singh Malhi and CIA Inspector Harinder Singh raided the factory and seized six bags of milk powder, nine bags of glucose powder, refined oil, four vehicles, acid to name a few. The accused were identified as Makhan Singh, Lakhwinder Singh alias Lakha, Gurmeet Kaur and Gurpreet Kaur – all residents of the Balad Khurd. SSP further said that accused were supplying adulterated milk in the market. Being produced for Rs 6 per liter, they were selling it for Rs 40 per liter.
