A 23-year-old man was found hanging from a ceiling fan in his room in Phase VI here on Saturday. Rakesh Kumar’s roommate Varinder Kumar told the police that when he returned from work in the morning,he found Rakesh’s body hanging from the ceiling fan. Varinder works in a call centre.

The body was shifted to the Civil Hospital for a postmortem. Rakesh was a salesman employed at a chemist shop. The police have initiated inquest proceedings but failed to ascertain the reason behind the suicide as no suicide note was found from the spot.
