Revenue-generating projects such as multi-level parkings, bank squares, commercial and shopping complex are a few of the “top priority projects” that municipalities and the state government of Haryana shall be executing in the coming months, officials said. The state government, Friday, issued a notification specifying the priority list of projects to be undertaken by the municipalities and state government in the municipal areas across Haryana. The projects will be executed as per the revenue-earning scheme of municipalities where loan-based funding can be obtained or facilitated by the state government, said the government spokesperson. As per the notification, besides the revenue-generating projects, 32 other projects are to be implemented by the respective municipalities out of grants/funds at their disposal. Some of these projects include works pertaining to the construction and maintenance of roads, construction of new tubewells, construction of night shelters, maintenance of water supply, maintenance of public toilets, road sweeping and cleaning, door-to-door collection, segregation, transportation and processing of solid waste, installation/operation/maintenance of traffic signals, repair of street lights, maintenance of sewerage/stormwater/water works/tube wells (where water supply and sewerage responsibility vests with the municipal corporation). The spokesperson of Urban Local Bodies said that a few among the 32 projects include the construction and demolition projects, repair and maintenance of Samshan ghats, repair/maintenance of municipal office building, community centre, maintenance or cleaning of ponds, major repair of roads maintained by ULB, repair or maintenance of parks and other green spaces, maintenance of projects executed under Divya Nagar scheme, construction of gaushala/nandi shala, laying of water supply lines (where water supply and sewerage responsibility vests with the municipal corporation), installation of new street lights, laying of sewerage system and new stormwater lines, construction of new streets or roads, development of parks, rejuvenation of ponds, construction of community centre, etc. 10 major projects to be funded by state govt At least 10 projects have been listed to be implemented by or on behalf of the state government.
