Credited for launching the popular pageant Face of the Year several years ago in Punjab (actor Kangana Ranaut was one of the winners),city-based entrepreneur Sunil Bansal is now venturing into Bollywood. Director of city-based modelling agency,Studio Model Creators,Bansal has joined hands with Mumbai-based producer-director Ashish Bhavsar for a 3D Hindi film titled Beauty Queen. Having worked with wannabe models and aspiring beauty queens,Bansals script treads the familiar path and revolves around the world of modelling and pageants. The film is based on an international beauty pageant and will showcase the trials and tribulations of 20 contestants and their journey, says Bansal, who admits he wont shy away from showing the good and bad side of the industry. The cast includes Pakistani actor Meera, former Miss India Zeenat Aman, sports supermodel from Sydney Poonam Mehndiratta, former Miss Iran and model Melica Amina and former model-turned-actor Samiksha Singh. While Meera has worked in Bollywood before, for New York-based Melica Amina this is new. I felt she was right for the role
because she is part of the glamour world, says
Amina, who was in the city along with Meera on Sunday. The film will be shot in and around Chandigarh, starting March 17.
