Queen Baton Relay to stay in Himachal for 3 days

The Queen’s Baton Relay,popularly known by its acronym QBR,which will arrive in India in June ahead of the Commonwealth Games,will be in Himachal Pradesh for three days,between July 4 to 6 and cover seven of the 12 districts.

Earlier the Commonwealth organisining committee had proposed one day for the QBR to travel to other states,including Uttrankand,but now the state will have the privilege of hosting the relay for three days.

It will enter from Mehtapur bordering Punjab and leave from Paonta Sahib town near Dehradun in Uttrakhand.

Director of Youth Services and Sports J R Katwal said,“The plan for the relay has already been finalised. Himachal Pradesh is making elaborate arrangements to ensure that it becomes an equal partner in the Commonwealth Games event.”
