Days after Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and former Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee chief Navjot Singh Sidhu took potshots at each other, in a viral video, former deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal was heard calling Mann “pagal (mad)”. On Thursday, both Mann and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) hit back at Badal.

In a video clip, which has now gone viral, Badal is heard referring to Mann as “pagal” as he is heard recalling former CMs of the state. Badal is heard saying, “Ever since Punjab was reorganised, several CMs have taken over during different regimes, Barnala sahab remained for 2.5 years, Badal sahab for 20 years, Captain Amarinder for 10 years, Beant Singh for five years and the incumbent, who is a mad man, is there for a year.”

Mann later took to Twitter and said, “No problem Sukhbir ji, nature is with me, the people of Punjab are with me. At least this madman does not rob Punjab like you.”

Meanwhile, AAP condemned Badal’s remarks and called it “indecent” and said such comments show he is unnerved. AAP Punjab’s chief spokesperson Malvinder Singh Kang said, “While in power, these people amassed wealth worth billions and trillions by misusing public tax money. Now with the honest politics of the Chief Minister, their dreams of looting Punjab have been dashed. That’s why these people are saying such things in distress.”

In his video, Kang also targeted leader of Opposition Pratap Singh Bajwa and said that a few days ago, Bajwa had ridiculed AAP MLAs belonging to the Dalit community.

Kang added, “In fact, this wealthy and feudal political family considers the throne as its birthright. They are unable to digest that the son of a teacher who hails from an ordinary farmer’s family has become the chief minister. These people have lost their mental balance in extreme frustration and anger after the common people came to power (through AAP).”

Attacking the Congress and the Akali Dal, Kang said that those who attacked Darbar Sahib and opened fire on an unarmed Sikh Sangat are doing low level politics to save their finished political careers. “But these people have been rejected by the people of Punjab and there is no hope for them even in the future,” he said.
