PSEB class X results: Kurali girl tops Mohali district with 94 pc

Swati Kalia of DAV Model Senior Secondary School,Kurali,district Mohali,topped the Class X examinations in the district with 94 per cent marks. The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) declared the class X examination results on Monday. At the state level,she bagged the 17th position.

Kalia could not be contacted as she was out of station. Her mother,Usha Kalia,while talking to Newsline,said that she wanted to take up the B Tech stream in the future. “She is very hardworking. Rather than cramming things,she believes in understanding concepts and theories,” added her mother.

Followed by Kalia,Neeraj Yadav of Acharya Atma Ram Jain Model Senior Secondary School,Dera Bassi,stood second in the district after he earned a 93.85 per cent in the class X examinations. However,at the state level,he secured a rank of 18.

Parneet Kaur of Baby Model High School,Banur with 93.69 per cent,bagged the third rank in the district while her state rank is 19. As per PSEB information,as many as six students from the Mohali district got positions in the merit list.

The overall pass percentage of class X was 69.32 per cent,less than last year’s percentage,which was 73.49 percent. Mohali district has a 61.41 per cent pass percentage.

In all 4.95 lakh students appeared for class X examinations,of which 2.98 lakh students passed the examination. The pass percentage of boys was 63.84 per cent and of girls was 76.58 percent.
