The Chandigarh Police on Monday,sent a reminder to doctors who conducted post-mortem on the 10-year-old girl,seeking a reply to the queries it had asked regarding the findings of the report. The doctors have not yet replied to the Chandigarh police request,which they had sent on December 3.
Police said the doctors have assured that the department would be sending the reply soon to Director Health Services,UT as one of the doctors of the three member panel that conducted the post-mortem,has not returned from an official leave.
Police on Monday,detained taxi drivers to ask their whereabouts on the day of the murder. Police on December 3,had sent a set of questions to the doctors in order to find clues that would help them solve the case. The queries included the time between the death of the girl and the body being found,the nature of injuries found on the body and the source of blood found in the nostrils and around the ears of the deceased.
The post-mortem report suggested that the girl was sexually assaulted before she was murdered. According to police sources,vaginal injury,injuries on the neck and six other injuries were found on her body. A resident of Palsora village,the deceased was reported to be missing on November 27. Later,police found the body of the girl in a jute sack near Sector 52 forest area. A plastic rope was found tied around the girls neck suggesting that she was strangulated.
