Police assault on Colonel in Patiala: Family urges Gov to order CBI probe
The Home Department directed him to complete the inquiry within three weeks.

The family of a Colonel, who has accused 12 police officers of thrashing him and his son over a parking dispute in Patiala, Thursday rejected a magisterial probe into the matter and urged Governor Gulab Chand Kataria to order a CBI probe.
Jaswinder Kaur Batth, the wife of Colonel Pushpinder Singh Batth, their son and another relative met Governor Kataria and demanded that a CBI probe be ordered. She raised the issue of the names of the accused police officers missing from the FIR and also informed the Governor that the police have not yet revealed their names despite suspending them.
Earlier in the day, the state government appointed IAS officer Paramvir Singh, who is the commissioner of Patiala municipal corporation, as an inquiry officer to probe the incident that took place on the intervening night of March 13 and 14.
The Home Department directed him to complete the inquiry within three weeks.
