A 28-year-old PGI resident doctor, who recently returned from Bangalore after attending a conference, was admitted at the hospital as a suspected case of swine flu on Sunday. This is the second case where a resident doctor of PGI has been admitted at the isolation ward. Last month, another doctor was confirmed positive for the flu after he returned from attending a conference in the UK. “In the present case, the patient does not have any symptoms but since he came in contact with several foreign delegates at the conference,he wanted to rule out the chances of swine flu. We have collected the samples and sent them to NICD,Delhi, for testing,” said a senior officer. Meanwhile, three members of a family from Sangrur who were admitted on Saturday as suspected cases at PGI have been confirmed negative.
