The admission to various courses run by the University School of Open Learning (USOL) for the session 2011-12 is open. The last date for submission of admission forms without late fee is August 31,(semester system) and September 7 for (annual) examinations. The prospectus is available in the following Post Offices of Chandigarh: Sectors 14,15,17,20,36 and 47,Motor Market,Manimajra; Mohali: Sector 55; Panchkula: Sector 8 and also at Abohar,Ludhiana,Muktsar,Hoshiarpur,Shimla and New Delhi. The prospectus can also be downloaded from the PU website http://www.usol.pu.ac.in.

Day after Diwali, Delhi’s air quality remains ‘very poor’

Delhi's air quality worsens after Diwali, with an average AQI of 346 at 5:30 am. Despite the ban on green crackers, 36 out of 38 monitoring stations showed "very poor" to "severe" pollution levels, with four stations recording severe air quality. Dwarka was the most affected area.
