The Panchkula District Commissioner of Polices car met with an accident at the Mattanwala village road near Ramgarh on Monday when a speeding vehicle coming from the opposite direction lost control and crashed into a nearby tree. Parul Kush Jain,DCP,Panchkula; her driver and the gunman,in the official Swift Dzire received no injuries. The two men in the speeding Maruti Alto,Ashok Kumar and Vikas Kumar,were injured and admitted immediately to the Government Hospital,Sector-6, Panchkula. A case has been registered against the driver of the Alto,Vikas Kumar,resident of Billa village,on the statement of Nagendra Kumar,driver of the DCPs car,at Chandimandir Police Station. The FIR has been lodged on charges of drunk and rash driving. According to doctors at the hospital,the medico legal report shows that the driver of Alto car was under the influence of liquor. Blood and urine samples have been collected to confirm the same. The DCP,in her official vehicle,was heading towards Barwala Police Station from Ramgarh Police checkpoint,when the accident took place. Cops register hit-and-run case CHANDIGARH: THE UT police on Sunday,registered a hit-and-run case where a car driven in rash and negligent manner rammed into a motorbike leaving two motorcyclists injured. The incident took place at around 11 pm near Khuda Lahora. According to the complaint,Arun Sharma (victim) a Mohali resident,was returning from Baddi along with his friend Aman (pillion rider). A Maruti car bearing registration number CH 01 Q 5999 banged into their Bullet Motorcycle. The car driver fled the spot. Arun and Aman were admitted to PGI. A case has been registered in Sector 11 police station. No arrests have been made.
