A road behind PGI to link Chandigarh with Baddi soon
The construction of this Khuda Lahora-Kona road would cut the travel time from Baddi to PGI, Chandigarh, by 15 km and one will be able to reach the hospital from Baddi in 25 minutes.

With the directions given to the PWD Haryana to execute the work on the road from Khuda Lahora village (just behind PGI, Chandigarh) to Kona village in Haryana at the earliest, the connectivity between Chandigarh and Baddi (HP) via PGI is expected to see the light of day soon.
This was discussed during a joint meeting between the chief executive officer (CEO), Baddi Barotiwala Nalagarh Development Authority (BBNDA), and the deputy commissioner, Panchkula, at the Baddi Trade Center, Baddi, late on Friday. Other issues of connectivity between Panchkula and Baddi were also discussed in the meeting.

Talking to The Indian Express, Lalit Jain, CEO, BBNDA, said, “A joint mechanism has been developed by us and DC, Panchkula, to deal with all the inter-state issues between Panchkula and Baddi as Baddi shares its entire boundary with Panchkula and our main issue also revolves around connectivity. We deliberated on the new route from Baddi to PGI for which directions were given by Panchkula DC Sushil Sarwan to the Haryana PWD to get it executed at the earliest. Also, discussions on another connectivity between Baddi and Panchkula – which we plan to name it Nawanagar (Haryana)-Sheetalpur (BBN) bypass – were held. The DFO, Panchkula, was directed in the meeting to get the NoC for it as the project involves some area of land, which comes under the Haryana Land Preservation Act, the power of which is with the DFO. The gram panchayat concerned in Haryana has already given the NoC for the land in this regard.”
Jain further said, “Discussions on the Marawala-Barotiwala road, which is the lifeline of Barotiwala and is the main road to enter the Barotiwala industrial area were held; the orders to complete the road re-carpeting work by November 15 were given to the PWD. Also, the menace of the scrap dealers in the Marawala village (Haryana) was brought up as these scrap dealers store the scrap on the roads only and also burn it, causing pollution and smoke coming towards Baddi, for which directions were given to the Haryana pollution board to take strict action in this regard.”
Jain added, “Haryana also had certain issues like the connectivity with Kala Amb, a bridge has to be constructed there, which would benefit Haryana, for which a budget of Rs 2 crore has been estimated. We have promised to take up the matter with the Himachal government and get it done.”
Officers from PWD of Himachal Pradesh and Haryana, officials of pollution control board of both states, officials of Haryana Mandi Board, excise department of Haryana, and officials of Forest department were also present.
