Nine murder accused acquitted after eyewitnesses turn hostile

Additional District and Sessions Judge Sanjeev Jindal acquitted all the nine youths facing murder charges in the Kushal Sharma murder case here on Saturday.

Sharma,a student of BA final year in the Government College,Sector 1,was killed when a group of students from the same college attacked him with sharp-edged weapons near the college at Majri Chowk on September 27.

The court ordered the acquittal of Pushpinder Kumar,Mukesh Kumar,Gaurav Saini,Sanjeev,Manish,Nitin,Kulbhushan,Dhyan Singh and Kiran Pal after all the three eyewitnesses,including complainant Arun Kumar,who was injured in the incident and father of the deceased,turned hostile.

Earlier on January 21,the district court had framed charges of murder,rioting and being armed with deadly weapons under Sections 148,149,323 and 302 of the IPC against the nine accused.
