Move to double fee for paid parking

The proposal of the Municipal Corporation to double the fee for the paid parking lots would be taken up for discussion at the meeting of the Finance and Contract Committee to be held on Thursday. It has been proposed that the fee for two-wheelers be increased from Rs 2 to Rs 4 and that of four-wheelers from Rs 5 to Rs 10. It is proposed that the fee for monthly passes be increased from Rs 150 to Rs 300 for two-wheelers and Rs 300 to Rs 600 for four-wheelers. The fee for paid parking lots has not been increased since these were started in the city almost nine years ago. The proposal has been included in the agenda.
