Beyond healthcare, Dhanoa supports underprivileged children by providing books, stationery, and uniforms, while actively promoting environmental conservation, water saving, and waste-to-compost initiatives. In recognition of his outstanding contribution to humanitarian work, blood donation, and public welfare, noted Mohali-based social worker Satvir Singh Dhanoa, former councillor and president of Punjabi Virsa Cultural & Welfare Society (Regd), was honoured by Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria at Punjab Raj Bhawan.
Dhanoa has been a tireless advocate of community service, having facilitated over 11,000 units of blood donation to various blood banks, including PGI, Chandigarh. His dedicated efforts have saved countless lives, especially by arranging emergency blood for patients in hospitals across the Tricity.
Under his leadership, his team has also been at the forefront of health awareness campaigns — organising free cancer check-up and medical camps, with around 800 mammography screenings and thousands of PSA and other diagnostic tests conducted. The next free cancer screening camp is scheduled for December 16, 2025, in Mohali.
Beyond healthcare, Dhanoa supports underprivileged children by providing books, stationery, and uniforms, while actively promoting environmental conservation, water saving, and waste-to-compost initiatives.
Expressing gratitude for the honour, Dhanoa said, “This recognition is a great source of pride and inspiration for me. I sincerely thank the Hon’ble Governor for acknowledging my humble efforts in social service. I dedicate this honour to all those who stand with me in the service of humanity.”
